The varsity football team took some major steps forward on Friday (9/6) night when they played a very good Cass City team. The offense began to get its feet under itself and the run game, headed by Landon Zastrow, started to take shape. Landon also made an impact in the passing game, hauling in 5 catches for 63 yds, getting his total yardage over the century mark. Dawson Doan hauled in a big time catch late in the game to set up Drew Genow's second TD reception of the game (3rd of the season). On the defensive side of the ball, Steven Katzenberger led the way with 12 solo tackles and 5 assists. Friday night's Player of the Game was Trevan Swanson. Trevan started on both sides of the ball, basically never came off the field, and scored his very first Varsity point by knocking in an extra point early in the 2nd quarter.
