PICTURE RETAKES

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this message finds you well! As we move further into the school year, we want to remind families of the importance of having an up-to-date medication authorization form on file for any student who may need medication during the school day.

If your child requires an EpiPen, inhaler, or any other prescribed or over-the-counter medication while at school, we must have the proper documentation completed and signed by both a parent/guardian and the child’s healthcare provider. This ensures we can safely and promptly assist your student in the event of a medical need.

Please note that medications cannot be given at school without a current medication form on file. This includes carrying or self-administering inhalers, EpiPens, or any other type of emergency medication.

Medication forms are available in the school office or can be downloaded from our district website. If you need assistance completing the form or have any questions about your child’s health plan, please don’t hesitate to contact our school nurse.

Thank you for helping us keep all students safe and healthy at school!

Warm regards,

Nurse Becky

School Vaccine Reminder & Reporting

Even though the school year is underway, it’s not too late to make sure your child is up to date on required vaccines. Immunizations such asTdap andMeningococcal conjugate are required for our 7th graders andare critical for protecting your child and the entire school community from serious diseases.

By law, schools must verify student immunization records or waivers and report them to the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR). This reporting helps local health departments monitor protection levels and respond quickly if an outbreak occurs. Schools submit reports in November and February to meet state compliance requirements.

Staying up to date on vaccines keeps classrooms safer, reduces the spread of preventable illness, and ensures fewer disruptions to learning.

How cool is this?  The SCRC received its second plow in this year’s Paint-a-Plow program! This one was beautifully designed by the talented students at Hemlock Schools! A huge thank you to the students for sharing their creativity and community spirit with us. Keep an eye out for their artwork on the roads this winter!  Way to go fellow Huskies!

What a day for our Hemlock Marching Huskies 65 band members spent Saturday performing at Cedar Point—kicking things off with a short but lively parade and concert before enjoying a beautiful fall day and a few roller coasters, of course. This marks the band’s 5th Cedar Point performance since the tradition began with just 25 students. The trip has grown so much that next year, we’ll need a second bus!

SAFE STORAGE LAW

We care about the safety of our students — both at school and at home. Michigan has a law requiring safe storage when children or minors may be present. Please take a moment to review safe storage in your home.
