Please note that only 7th and 8th graders are allowed to run for cabinet. If you are interested in running for one of the four positions, continue reading to learn more about requirements and roles:
In order to run for a cabinet position, you must complete ALL of the following documents and tasks and turn them into Mrs. Helmer or Mr. Stedry:
Student Council Letter of Interest: You must write a letter to the Student Council Advisors explaining why you would like to run for a cabinet position. What qualities do you have that would be an asset to our Student Council? CLICK HERE to access the sample letter.
Teacher/Staff Member Letter of Recommendation: You must ask a teacher or staff member in the middle school to write you a letter recommending that you can run for a cabinet position. Please note that they have the right to refuse to write you a letter based on behavior or academics. They are also only allowed to write two, so you will want to be timely in asking.
Student Council Code of Conduct: All applicants and their parent/guardian must sign a Code of Conduct before applying for a cabinet position. CLICK HERE to print and sign the document.
IMPORTANT DATES
● Tuesday, April 22nd: Begin completing ALL attached documents to run for cabinet
● Thursday, May 1st: ALL documents must be turned in by 12:00 pm NOON to Mrs. Helmer or Mr. Stedry (hard copies only)
● Friday, May 2nd: Cabinet Elections
