BrainSTEM wrapped up the 2025 season this weekend at the FIRST in Michigan FTC State Championship. We ended qualification matches ranked in 14th place. While we didn’t make it to the playoffs, we did earn the 2nd place Sustain Award recognizing our commitment to the future of Hemlock Robotics.  

It was an amazing season for Hemlock’s BrainSTEM. We are proud of the work we did and excited to see what we can do in the off season. As always, go BrainSTEM!!

Hey Huskies!  We now have an option available to us through Lifetouch called the Community Image Upload.  This enables anyone (teachers, staff, parents, students) with candid shots to directly upload them to the portal.  You must click on the following link https://community.lifetouch.com/invite?code=HEMLOCK-MIDDLE-SCHOOL-26, enter your email, create an account (if you don't already have one) and then upload.  The pictures will then be put in the community section on the portal and Ms. Kris will have access to use them for yearbook or social media purposes.  

You are definitely still welcome to email Ms. Kris at ballou@hemlockps.com with any pictures that you wish to send in, this new Lifetouch portal is just another option for everyone to use. 

Please share either of these options with anyone that would like to send us pictures of our HMS students being amazing! 

VOLLEYBALL VS CHRISTA MCAULIFFE ON 12/16

8th grade A team won 2 out of there 3 sets. 8th grade B team lost all 3 sets tonight. 

B team scores: 19-25, 17-25, 19-25

Ireland had 2 aces, 3 kills, and 3 digs, Emilia had 5 aces, 3 assists, and 6 digs, Ren had 4 aces and 9 digs. 

A team scores:  25-19, 24-26, 25-23

Carly had 4 aces, 17 assists, 4 kills, and 6 digs, Addy had 3 aces, 10 kills, and 20 digs, Anna had 4 aces and 22 digs, Haley had 5 aces, 3 kills, 1 block, 2 digs. 

The 7th grade volleyball A and B teams both defeated John Glenn in an intense battle that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The B team kept fans guessing, winning the first set 25–21, falling short in the second set 12–25, and then coming back strong to take the third set 25–22.

The A team also came out fighting but fell just short in the first set with a score of 22–25. They responded with a vengeance in the second set, dominating with a 25–13 win, and sealed the overall victory by taking the third set 25–19.

Every girl on both teams played with heart and determination and truly left it all on the court.

We are pleased to share that the High School Legend Weight Room is open and available to both high school and middle school students during our supervised hours with Weight Room Attendant Mr. Robert Knapik.

                       Saturday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

For Teens 5th-8th grade. Join the middle school anime club at the library! Make and eat Japanese food, watch and talk about anime, learn about and do cosplay, and do kawaii crafts! You get to help make decisions about what shows and films we watch, and suggest fun activities for future club meetings!

Drop-ins welcome! (Anime Club will not meet during Winter Break).
