Hemlock High School Student of the Week Sponsored by Fullerton Tool

Student of the Week

At Hemlock High School, we take pride in recognizing students who embody dedication, passion, and integrity. This week, we are excited to highlight Sophomore Jyllian Corwin as our Student of the Week!

Jyllian stands out for her enthusiasm and commitment to both academics and extracurricular activities. One of her favorite aspects of school is her Multimedia class. "Multimedia is my favorite part of my school day because it's the most entertaining and hands-on class that I am in!" she shares. Her love for creative and interactive learning shines through in her participation in Yearbook and Multimedia, where she contributes her talents to capturing school memories and storytelling through digital media.

Beyond the classroom, Jyllian is an active participant in Poms and track, demonstrating her dedication to teamwork, performance, and athleticism. She is also deeply passionate about English, finding joy in expressing herself through writing and literature.

Jyllian credits Mrs. Woodcock as her biggest inspiration and role model. "She always seems to find the positive in everything and is a great supporter and listener," Jyllian says. This admiration reflects Jyllian's own values of optimism and encouragement, which she brings into her daily interactions at Hemlock High.

Looking toward the future, Jyllian has a clear vision for her career. She plans to pursue cosmetology and dreams of opening her own salon. To achieve this goal, she intends to enroll in the cosmetology program at SCC during her junior and senior years and then continue her education in business. With her drive and determination, there is no doubt that Jyllian is on the path to success.

Congratulations, Jyllian Corwin, on being named Hemlock High School’s Student of the Week! Your hard work, passion, and positive attitude are truly inspiring to your peers and teachers alike.

A huge thank you to our dedicated industrial technology teachers for providing incredible hands-on learning experiences that prepare Saginaw County students for a variety of careers!

Hey, What's for Lunch?

We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the Michigan School Meals Program, EVERY child at Hemlock Public School District, pre-K through 12th grade, will now be able to enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch for FREE!

Not only will this amazing program lighten the load on your wallet (we all know kids can eat their way through a pantry), but it'll save you precious time in the morning.

Now, here's the nitty-gritty: Although the meals are free, we do need all our parents to fill out the new free/reduced lunch application. This data is super important as it helps secure state and federal funding for this fantastic initiative.

Here's to full bellies, vibrant minds, and the #huskietastic school year ahead!

3/19 - Girls Soccer

The huskies played a tough JV soccer game against the Flushing raiders last night at Home. Battling through sickness, injury and low numbers we were able to get a score on goal by Freshman Gracyn Gronski. Though the score was not in our favor at 1-2, these girls played their hearts out and truly gave it their all.

4/1 - Varsity Girls Soccer

The girls competed hard against a 7th ranked Freeland team that is well respected throughout the state. We only had a few lapses and bad bounces that decided the game despite playing without 3 captains today. Khloe Rump and Leah Tilot played exceptionally well for us.

Taryn Pratt filled our side of the stat sheet with 27 saves on 30 shots on goal.

4/1 - JV Girls Soccer

The lady huskies played a tough Jv soccer game against the Freeland Falcons last night in Freeland. Taryn Pratt and Addison Theile had many saves in the net last night and though the score was not in our favor, these girls played their hearts out and truly gave it their all. Go Huskies!
