Hey, What's for Lunch?

We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the Michigan School Meals Program, EVERY child at Hemlock Public School District, pre-K through 12th grade, will now be able to enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch for FREE!

Not only will this amazing program lighten the load on your wallet (we all know kids can eat their way through a pantry), but it'll save you precious time in the morning.

Now, here's the nitty-gritty: Although the meals are free, we do need all our parents to fill out the new free/reduced lunch application. This data is super important as it helps secure state and federal funding for this fantastic initiative.

Here's to full bellies, vibrant minds, and the #huskietastic school year ahead!

To add funds to your student's account for a la carte items, please use the following link:

Important Meal Information for Families

All students are currently eligible to receive free breakfast and/or lunch each school day. However, if a student chooses to take milk only, it is available for $0.50.

We strongly encourage all families to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application, as we are unsure whether free meals for all students will continue beyond September 30.

Thank you for your attention and support!

Last night's Player of the Game, sponsored by Primetime, was Senior Captain #22 Steven Katzenberger. Steven led the team defensively with 11.5 Tackles, 2 for a loss, and 1 QB hurry. Offensively, "Katz" rushed for 32 yds on 8 carries, including a 9 yd TD. Everyone's favorite play of the game came when Steven connected with #11 Drew Genow through the air for a 20 yd completion!

8/28 - Varsity Football

The Huskies fell just short, losing to Garber 20-18. That being said, we absolutely physically dominated the 2nd half. Our rushing attack wore down the Garber defense and our offensive line took control of the game. A slow start on defense, giving up TDs on Garber's first two drives, culminated in a dominating 4th Quarter filled with forced fumbles and 3 and outs. There just wasn't enough time on the clock for the comeback to materialize.

The offensive line paved the way for 190 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs.

  • Drew Genow (Jr.) rushed for 63 yds on 8 carries and a 3 yd TD. Adding 28 receiving yards in the air.

  • Markus Plowden (So.) rushed for a gritty 52 yds on 13 carries

  • Steven Katzenberger (Sr.) rushed for 32 yds on 8 carries and completed 1 pass for 20 yds. Steven also led the team in tackles defensively.

  • Brayden Stanard scored a 2 yd TD and changed the direction of the game with his stripped fumble on defense.

  • Gavin Schmidt commanded the offense and rushed for 31 yds on 7 carries with a 1 yd TD run. He completed 3 of 10 passing for another 24 yds of output.
