Bringing Christmas Spirit to Swanhaven

One of our favorite traditions of the holidays! The Art Club decorating the common area windows at Swan Haven Manor Retirement Community!

After adding a little holiday magic to the windows at Swanhaven Manor yesterday, our upper-level art students spent the afternoon soaking up inspiration at the Alden B. Dow Home and Studio before taking in the views from the Whiting Forest canopy walk. A full day of creativity, connection, and Huskie pride.

12/5 - JV Boys Basketball

JV Huskies were defeated by the Carollton Cavaliers by a final score of 67-29. Hemlock struggled to handle Carrollton's full court pressure all night, which the Cavs ran from the first possession to the last. Turnovers and lack of shot making made it a difficult night, but the boys showed resiliency and kept their heads held high, focused on improvement. Markus Plowden played a complete game, leading Hemlock in scoring and rebounding with 10 points and 9 boards. Bentley Baumer added 6 points and Graham Scoles 4 off of the bench.

The huskies were lead in scoring by Layne Robinson with 14 points followed by Marta Castano with 11. Kristyn Pratt scored 7 points and Olivia McQueen added 6 points.

12/8 - JV Boys Basketball

On Monday night, the JV Huskies defeated the Reese Rockets by a final score of 42-28. It was a very defensive game, in which both teams struggled to score early. At halftime, the Huskies led by 10, but had yet to play their best. In the third quarter Hemlock showed a renewed energy that pushed the lead to 20 as they entered the 4th quarter. Bentley Baumer was a defensive pest, forcing several steals and converting them to 14 points. Tristyn Church added a nice option inside, scoring 10, while Brayden Stanard played with great energy and added 7 off of the bench.

Lets be Healthy Huskies

A Note From Nurse Becky

We hope this message finds you well! As we move further into the school year, we want to remind families of the importance of having an up-to-date medication authorization form on file for any student who may need medication during the school day.

If your child requires an EpiPen, inhaler, or any other prescribed or over-the-counter medication while at school, we must have the proper documentation completed and signed by both a parent/guardian and the child’s healthcare provider. This ensures we can safely and promptly assist your student in the event of a medical need.

Please note that medications cannot be given at school without a current medication form on file. This includes carrying or self-administering inhalers, EpiPens, or any other type of emergency medication.

Medication forms are available in the school office or can be downloaded from our district website. If you need assistance completing the form or have any questions about your child’s health plan, please don’t hesitate to contact our school nurse.

Thank you for helping us keep all students safe and healthy at school!
