Busy Bees this Weekend... |
This weekend, Hemlock’s Gray Matter partnered up with Team 33 Killer Bees to compete at the Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition. We finished qualification matches ranked 5th with a record of 5-2-0. During alliance selection, the captains of Alliance 1, Team 302 The Dragons, selected us and Team 4810 I AM Robot for playoffs. After dropping to the lower bracket, we fought our way to finals but unfortunately lost both matches. Overall, this competition was a great opportunity for our upcoming female students to showcase their skills! Thank you so much, @killerbees33, for giving us this experience!

Marching into Cedar Point! |
What a day for our Hemlock Marching Huskies 65 band members spent Saturday performing at Cedar Point—kicking things off with a short but lively parade and concert before enjoying a beautiful fall day and a few roller coasters, of course. This marks the band’s 5th Cedar Point performance since the tradition began with just 25 students. The trip has grown so much that next year, we’ll need a second bus! |

Our senior football players are alongside a teacher or staff member of their choice: someone who’s made a lasting impact on their time here at HHS.
Our team’s success goes far beyond the field. This year, we’re proud to celebrate zero ineligibilities... not even a single warning! That’s a testament to the commitment, accountability, and hard work of our student-athletes, and the incredible teachers and staff who support them every day.
To our teachers: thank you for pouring into our kids, challenging them, believing in them, and helping them grow as students, athletes, and young men. This is your win, too! |

Senior #67 James Marolf and his choice, U.S. History teacher Mrs. Jennifer Whitford. James had this to say about Mrs. Whitford:
"I picked Mrs. Whitford because she teaches my favorite class and she is not just an amazing teacher, but also a wonderful person, and good judge of character. I picked her because on bad days she has always been there to make me happy... including the occasional hug"
|
|
Senior #55 Trevan Swanson. He chose to recognize World History teacher Mr. Tyler Zolinski. Here's what Trevan had to say about Mr. Zolinski:
"I picked Mr. Zolinski because as a coach in powerlifting he spotted me every lift he could. I appreciate everything he has done for me. He has taught me how to lift heavy weight, block football plays, and even knowledge about our government. Zo is an amazing teacher, he makes class fun with debates and fun news Fridays."
"I am going to miss our conversations about who is winning against the Lions and Packers. Surprisingly I'm going to miss getting crap from him that the Lions are better than the Packers.
Mr. Zolinski has made a great impact on my life and has made me a better person. He always brings good energy to every huddle, classroom, and person."

|
#50 Dylan Kowalski. Dylan selected our Dean of Students Mr. Kyle Boros. Here's what Dylan had to say about why he chose to recognize Mr. Boros:
"I chose Mr. Boros because he has helped me throughout my high school career by answering any questions I’ve had and supporting me with SCC. He’s always been willing to take the time to explain things clearly and make sure I understand. On top of that, we both share an interest in collecting cards, his support has helped me through my time at school." |

Friday night’s “Player of the Game”, sponsored byPrimetime Painting and Powerwashing, was Jr. #11 Drew Genow. Drew rushed for 3 TDs and a 2-pt conversion totaling over 120 yds on the night. Drew has been battling a nagging injury all year long (you’ll never hear about it from him), but nothing could hold him back from sending out our Seniors on a high note!

We hope this message finds you well! As we move further into the school year, we want to remind families of the importance of having an up-to-date medication authorization form on file for any student who may need medication during the school day.
If your child requires an EpiPen, inhaler, or any other prescribed or over-the-counter medication while at school, we must have the proper documentation completed and signed by both a parent/guardian and the child’s healthcare provider. This ensures we can safely and promptly assist your student in the event of a medical need.
Please note that medications cannot be given at school without a current medication form on file. This includes carrying or self-administering inhalers, EpiPens, or any other type of emergency medication.
Medication forms are available in the school office or can be downloaded from our district website. If you need assistance completing the form or have any questions about your child’s health plan, please don’t hesitate to contact our school nurse.
Thank you for helping us keep all students safe and healthy at school!
