UPDATE - Traffic on campus

Beginning Wednesday, April 15th, we will be entering another step in the final phase of our construction work, and with that comes a temporary change to traffic flow on campus.

All buses will be rerouted to Pine Street, entering and exiting through the bus loop and service drive between the high school and elementary at the same point we typically exit. As you can imagine, this may cause some slower traffic and backups during morning arrival.

We ask for your patience, a little extra time in your morning routine, and continued attention to safety as we work through this adjustment. Our team will be present to help guide traffic and keep things moving as smoothly as possible.

Looking ahead, later this spring, we will take the next step by shifting Elementary and High School bus drop-off and pick-up to the East doors at Hemlock Elementary, with shared use of the service drive from Hemlock Road, with parent drop off. We will communicate details and timing well in advance of that transition.

We are in the final stretch. Thank you for sticking with us and continuing to support the work that is creating a better, safer campus for our students and community.

A Letter From Nurse Becky:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this message finds you well! As we move further into the school year, we want to remind families of the importance of having an up-to-date medication authorization form on file for any student who may need medication during the school day.

If your child requires an EpiPen, inhaler, or any other prescribed or over-the-counter medication while at school, we must have the proper documentation completed and signed by both a parent/guardian and the child’s healthcare provider. This ensures we can safely and promptly assist your student in the event of a medical need.

Please note that medications cannot be given at school without a current medication form on file. This includes carrying or self-administering inhalers, EpiPens, or any other type of emergency medication.

Medication forms are available in the school office or can be downloaded from our district website. If you need assistance completing the form or have any questions about your child’s health plan, please don’t hesitate to contact our school nurse.

Thank you for helping us keep all students safe and healthy at school!

Warm regards,

Nurse Becky

What families need to know from our school social worker.

Every child needs a safe place to sleep!
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is now serving families in the 48626 and 48637 zip codes. This volunteer-run nonprofit provides free twin-size beds to children who need a safe, comfortable place to sleep so they can rest, grow, and be ready to learn each day.

To qualify, applicants must be the legal guardian (or have a referral from a school or local agency) of a child ages 3–17, live in a served zip code, and have space in their home for a twin-size bed.

Families can check zip code eligibility and apply online here: https://shpbeds.org/apply/
